Don O’Melveny – Writer
Don O’Melveny is a graduate of the USC School of Cinema. Two of his screenplays have been produced, Nightfighters and the HBO World Premier of Extramarital. His screenplay, Goodnight Marilyn, formally titled No City for Dreaming, was previously optioned by HBO, however the network ultimately chose to produce a less controversial documentary piece, Norma Jean and Marilyn starring Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino. His book No City for Dreaming was released last year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of her death, reaching the Top Ten weekly ranking for Mystery/Thrillers on Amazon. O’Melveny works extensively in the modern and contemporary art world, recently creating the special TRIBUTE for Marilyn Monroe with award winning artists nationwide. He has been repeatedly called upon as a media expert concerning the history of Marilyn Monroe, especially concerning her final days.
Michael Engel – Writer
Michael Engel has produced, written and directed a host of TV commercials, educational and corporate films, as well as award winning short films. He co-wrote the feature film, Nightforce, released by Vestron Pictures. For the past several years, Michael has been producing infomercials and documentaries, working with celebrities such as Kathy Ireland, Olivia Newton John and Larry King, along with marketing giants Guthy-Renker and Beachbody. He line produced two films based on books by Deepak Chopra for Fox Home Video – How to Know God and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. As part of his distinguished career, Michael ran the production and post-production departments for Steven Spielberg’s non-profit organization, Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation. As Director of Production, he oversaw the gathering of more than 52,000 interviews with Holocaust Survivors and Witnesses.
Drew Ann Rosenberg – Director
Drew began her career in the arts working in off-Broadway theatre, New York City. She has had a highly successful career as a first assistant director with an impressive roster of credits (over 50 movies, among them six Academy Award-winners) including L.A. Confidential, Philadelphia, Misery, The Bad Lieutenant, Reversal of Fortune, Running on Empty, Along Came Polly, Ghostbusters II and Friends with Money, as well as seven features for HBO. She has won a DGA award (Lackawanna Blues) and received two additional nominations.
Her latest feature, Hole in One, was recently released worldwide by Universal and has been named by The Hollywood Reporter as one of the top ten most-pirated movies in the world (along with Iron Man 2, Get Him to the Greek and Predator). Other features include Follow the Prophet and Sex and a Girl and the short film Daybreak, which received an L.A. Emmy. She is currently in development on several new films including The Lunatic Fringe, written by academy award-winning writer Barry Morrow of Rainman, Crazy for You, written by Bruce Miller, produced by Dean Devlin, Lisa Brenner and David Permut, and Blindsided, a true story produced by David Rosemont. Drew was also one of a handful of directors who shot 65 one-hour episodes for the FOX series Saints & Sinners starring Maria Conchita Alonso, Robin Givens, Mel Harris, Charles Shaunnessy, Natalie Martinez and Scott Bailey.
Drew was born in Princeton, N.J. and attended Brown University.
Dante Spinotti – Director of Photography
A two-time Academy award nominee, the Italian-born Spinotti began his U.S. career in 1986 with his breakthrough visuals on Michael Mann’s Manhunter and continues today with the recent release of Tower Heist, directed by Brett Ratner. In between, he compiled more than 60 credits, collaborating with such groundbreaking directors as Bruce Beresford, Garry Marshall and Michael Apted.
Spinotti’s work with Curtis Hanson on 1997’s L.A. Confidential led to his first Oscar nomination, followed by a nomination for The Insider in 2000, with Mann. Both films also earned Spinotti ASC Award nominations, as did The Last of the Mohicans.
His body of work includes such memorable films as Crimes of the Heart, Beaches, Frankie and Johnny, Heat, Wonder Boys, Red Dragon, Pinocchio, X-Men: The Last Stand, Public Enemies, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Berlin Affair, Fotografando Patrizia, Il segreto del bosco vecchio, The Legend of the Holy Drinker and The Star Maker.
Nina Boski – Producer
Bungalow 42 productions is headed by Nina Boski, a media veteran with over 20 years experience in promotions, marketing, advertising, video production, television and movies. She was employed by The Box Music Cable Network (MTV2), a division of Viacom, Inc., and became responsible for the entire west coast sales and development of all the entertainment business from the creation of movie segments to advertising deals. In 2000, Nina created her own media company LifeBites Media (LBM). LBM is responsible for creating content marketing for movie studios and television networks to promote their films and TV shows. Nina has also produced entertainment/lifestyle segments and TV pilots for Lifetime TV, The Hallmark TV Channel and WE. She created a highly successful multiplatform campaign around the James Bond 50th Anniversary Collection release with Fox Home Video, as well digital promotions around the movies, Think Like a Man and What to Expect When You Are Expecting.
Bonnie Ann Burgess – Producer
Bonnie has been involved in the Entertainment Business for 34 years. She been at the helm of Mettersi Films for 33 years, a company that she and her husband Cinematographer Don Burgess own. She was an actress for many years, her credits include Forrest Gump, Death Before Dishonor, Christmas with the Kranks, Josh and Sam, Loved and numerous commercials. As a producer, she is involved in feature films The Olive Sisters, Southern Justice, A touch of Grace, Tides of Men, Goodnight Marilyn and on the television end Will, The Nest, The Patriot and Sonja Grace Spirit Traveler.
David Silva – Line Producer
David Silva studied English and Film, and played Rugby at UCLA. From there, he worked at Central Casting, casting extras and bit parts for many films such as Die Hard as well as TV shows such as Cheers. From 1989 to present he has worked on set in film production in 25 states, and three continents for every studio in Hollywood. David has been a member of the Director’s Guild of America for 20 years whose films have a cumulative box office receipts over $4 billion, including nine Academy awards. He worked his way up from a Set Production Assistant on the film Dances with Wolves to 2nd Assistant Director on the films, My Cousin Vinny, Honey I Blew Up the Kid, City Slickers, Best Laid Plans, Waterworld and others. David was the 1st A.D. on Dragonfly, Message in a Bottle, Open Range, Thirteen Days, Evan Almighty and Green Hornet visual effects units. He has also produced and directed, including concert DVD’s for The Voice star Tony Lucca, and other artists, and also produced and directed commercial industrials and videos. David has written and published a book about filmmaking and has also written four screenplays.
Lisa Andoh – Co-Executive Producer
Lisa Andoh is the president and founder of I AM Productions. Lisa is a veteran entertainment professional with over 20 years in the industry and is known for her work with high net/high worth clients. In recent years, she has spearheaded the production finance divisions of major entertainment companies such as Starz (Camelot and Spartacus) and OddLot Entertainment (Drive and Rabbit Hole) and Eqal (Lonely Girl 15). She is recently embarking on producing her first films, one of them being Goodnight, Marilyn.
Dana Kent – Co-Executive Producer and Co-Producer of Television Unit
Dana Kent is currently a sales, operations and management consultant. Her charismatic and no-nonsense approach allows her to be one of the most sought after consultants of her time. As the President of Kent Enterprises, she specializes in business consulting, motivating and strategy, Dana has been leading and motivating sales people and increasing profits.
Beyond her talents and skill set though, it’s Dana’s energy and passion in the world of motivating and inspiring people to meet their potential that really sets her apart from other consulting professionals. She also has a passion for movies and entertainment and as a young adult performed across the country. Michael Hothorn – Casting
Michael began his casting career over a dozen years ago as a casting assistant under the tutelage of esteemed casting director Debra Zane, working on such features as Galaxy Quest, Stuart Little and Liberty Heights. From there he moved on to the casting associate level working alongside another A-list casting director, Denise Chamian, on features such as Minority Report, The Mexican and Planet of the Apes, among others. After embarking on his own as a casting director, Michael was recruited by 20th Century Fox to be their Director of Feature Casting. During his three-year tenure with the studio, Michael was heavily involved in the casting of many movies including Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Fever Pitch. Wanting to form his own casting and production company, Michael left the studio in 2005 to launch Quintessential Film. In 2009, he produced his first feature film The Inner Circle. Among his recent indie casting credits are One Square Mile and The Boys of Abu Ghraib. His studio casting credits include Paranormal Activity 2 for Paramount, The Pyramid, Amapola, and The Other Side of the Door for Fox International.
Rene Haynes – Marilyn Casting
Two-time Emmy nominee casting director Rene Haynes will ignite a global search for the woman to play Marilyn Monroe. Rene has worked with industry icons from Steven Spielberg to Terrence Malick. She was nominated for outstanding casting for the TNT/DreamWorks mini-series Into the West and the HBO feature Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, for which she also received the Artios Award for excellence in casting. She joined the casting team to find the Wolf Pack for Twilight Saga: New Moon and then went on to cast all the leads in Twilight Saga: Eclipse. Kick off for the Marilyn Monroe search will begin on Winter 2015. The woman chosen will win on her looks, acting ability and her ability to bring forth the essence of Marilyn Monroe.
Manager Social Media
Jen Andrews is a screenwriter, photographer, and a social media coordinator for film and television. Her first gig as a social media marketer was on the film, Is That A Gun In Your Pocket, starring Cloris Leachman and Andrea Anders, which led to stints as an EPK coordinator and set photographer once production for that film began. She has also worked with Sundance-nominated director Rafal Zielinski on his project Tiger Within, set to star Martin Landau, and recently ran a campaign to crowdfund a short film, Wedlocked, written by another Sundance nominee Guinevere Turner (American Psycho screenplay adaptation, The Notorious Bettie Page, The L Word). A Marilyn fan since the age of 16, Jen is extremely thrilled to work on a project that will honor her memory and emphasize her true talents and spirit.
Emily Selya – Manager Investigation and Video
After graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Film and Digital Media in 2013, Emily moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the film industry. She currently works as a video editor for an independent film company. Her passion for independent and narrative film led her to join the Goodnight Marilyn team in 2014. Emily assists in the overall promotion for Goodnight Marilyn through social media, promotional videos, marketing, research, and production. She continues to work in post-production on a variety of projects and values the opportunity to collaborate with the highly accomplished team working on Goodnight Marilyn.
Hayes Beyersdofer – Manager Finance and Investigation
Since joining the Goodnight Marilyn team in September 2014, Hayes has functioned in numerous capacities; research, marketing & public relations, finance and production. While studying at the University of Texas at Austin, Hayes worked as a Summer Analyst for Deutsche Bank AG in New York City in the Corporate and Investment Bank in addition to actively involving himself in the Austin film community as an actor, writer, director and producer. After graduating with a B.A. in Economics in 2014, Hayes chose to forego a career in Investment Banking, opting instead to pursue his passion in the motion picture industry. Since relocating to Los Angeles, Hayes has worked on several film projects and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work with the talented Goodnight Marilyn team.
Karen Brundage – Radio Show Talent
A New Jersey native, Karen has worked in many areas of entertainment, both on and off-stage. With a diverse professional background that includes performance, writing, public relations, production, customer service and more, she remains heavily ingrained in – and passionate for – the industry. She authors a television blog (TVTourGuide.net) and keeps abreast of everything Hollywood. Now a part of the Goodnight Marilyn Radio team, her motto is simple: “Being normal is overrated. Embrace every freedom and opportunity to be socially unique.”
